We rented a home on Island Lake for the week after the 4th. My parents and our little family headed up on Sunday and stayed until Saturday. The week went much too fast but we had really nice weather, great food, and lots of good times. Some highlights are as follows:
~Mason caught his first fish, thought it was so cool (actually did a little double fist pump and yelled "I catched one all by myself") it was so cute and quite a memory
~My Dad perfected his latte making and milk frothing on the espresso machine
~We biked from Park Rapids to Dorset one day, shopped and had lunch
~Took many pontoon rides, hung out at the beach, fished the "hell out of the lake" per Phil and he was only kidding (they only caught maybe 10 fish)
~Saw the eagles nest with mom and 2 baby eagles
~Grandma Paulette read Chicken Little so many times she probably could recite it without the book present
~I took 757 pictures...that should make a good book!
~Loons all night long (I am not a fan of loons (freaky red eyes), many beautiful flowers at the home we were at, hummingbirds and saw many deer (they also ate most of the hasta around the house!!)
It was a great week together, it was so nice to have my parents there to keep Mason and Jayden entertained at times and spened time with them. It was also special to spend time with the kids and watch Jayden progress through the week working towards crawling and be able to play with Mason and not having to worry about getting errands done or the other things that seem to consume my days off at home...and just good to be away and relax.
