Fun with Dad

It was fun to have Phil off for two weeks with us over the holidays, we had a lot of time to do things as a family. We took Mason ice skating for the first time. He loves hockey so skating sounded pretty exciting to him. We went to a rink a few blocks from our house, put on the skates and tried it out. He walked well on the skates in the snow but once on the ice he didn't want to put his feet down. Phil had his skates on too but we couldn't persuade him to put his feet down. We will try again and maybe bring a chair next time to help (if the temp EVER warms up here, only -20 this morning). Phil and Mason made some snowpeople in the backyard. We added eyes, noses, arms and smiles. Mason got some sled rides from Dad, also a facewash when the sled dumped, he did not enjoy that! Hockey on our ice covered driveway, shopping, hair styling, so many fun adventures. Phil has one week back to work under his belt, I am starting my countdown (sadly) until I go back. Although Phil had to take the time off for a mandatory shutdown it was good to all be together and be able to relax and have some fun.
